Just remember you will be towing around 2,000lbs over the Escalades rating. Transmission might also complain. Does it have a tow haul mode or can you take out of overdrive when starting up the ramp or from a stop?

I have a 32' and an Escalade and there is no way I would use it to tow that boat. That boat and trailer is over it's rated weight limits. Besides that, older ones do not even have a selectable transfer case with low range so getting out of steep ramps may not be easy on it.

DEFINATELY DO NOT use a weight distribution hitch. The chains on the distribution weight bars WILL adversely effect the surge brakes in that they WILL NOT work. Also I would recommend as stated before 3/4 ton truck or better. I had a 1/2 ton Surburban towing my 34' Scarab. Had to find an emergency out twice. That did it for me. Got an Excursion and never looked back.

Yes it’s a short distance and it will probably will handle it but I would not do it. You get in an accident and cause a fatality, a prosecutor will use the under rated tow vehicle against you. Also like someone else mentioned, without the selectable transfer case, your Escalade will be overworked pulling it out of the water up a steep ramp. Buy an old beater 2500 gas truck and save your Escalade.

I used a WD htich with Surge Brakes on a BARELY adequate tow setup years ago. It worked for about 2 seasons, but then I upgraded to a dually, and eventually got a Myco with EoH brakes as well.

After reading many responses, and considering the risk involved ...looks like I’ll be reconsidering using the Escalade entirely. Forcing it to happen could lead to real trouble. Thanks everyone for your time and much valued opinions !

When I had my 32, on a steel C-channel trailer, half a tank or so ready to go to the lake it was around 10,500lbs on the scales.

Just an update

I have used 1/2 to. Dodges with the Hemi and 8 speed transmission with a 3.92 gear in the back .....it pulls great , and actually stops well ....now the truck is setup from factory to pull 11,900........

Just would like to advise that Wake Zone made me sign a waver that my expedition was rated high enough from factory 9k. I towed my 32 with it with no problem.
