Default Anchor locker

How do you guys secure your anchor in the locker? I have a 27 Fever and there's nothing in the locker to secure the anchor to.

I use a Fortress aluminum danforth anchor for its light weight. I also shortened the rod the flukes attach to and capped the ends with rubber chair leg caps. Much easier to handle, eliminating the chance of banging things/gelcoat while storing, handling when retrieving. Askme how I know.... Rubber coated chain and l ay it on the line in a stowage area under my v-berth Works well for me. I gave up on the old galvanized dalforth many years ago.

Great question. I also have a 27 Fever and the anchor locker is destroyed from the anchor bashing around in there.

In my old Scarab, ( i know not fountain related sorry) the anchor beat the snot out of the compartment it was in after one season....i ended up throwing some cheap harbor freight moving blankets in to cushion it and worked great from then on.

I put a yoga mat in mine to finish out the season - it's working so well, I may just leave it.

I used something like this in our old 27' Fever. We were on a relatively calm river every weekend. On top of that, the boat only ran 70mph, so the anchor didn't move much at all. This mat allowed water, dirt to drain though. Seemed to work ok.
