I dont remember if I say it on craigslist for Facebook market place in the Connecticut area but there is a 29 with big power for sale up there.

hi guys. hey, anybody know about the type of maintnence a 525 efi and a 500 efi is required? i keep hearing youve got to like rebiuld the top end every 300 hours or so? if thats true what is the average cost in doing all the stuff? thanks for any input...

Rule of thumb is 250hrs on the top ends and 500hrs on the bottom. That’s several seasons of boating in the north. Can’t comment on the cost because I do all that stuff myself. If you’re less of a hands on type a 496 or other “black” motor might be better for you.

500efi can a lot longer with out maintenance, almost double that.

hi guys. i may have a line on a 29 fever with a 496 ho. anybody out there know if thats enough hp for that boat? you guys maybe know the top end or how long it even takes to get on plane? thanks for any input.

Not enough HP.
High 60s mph.
Takes longer than it should to get on plane. Even longer with a big load.
