Default 89 40’ Lightning, looking for history of this boat

Afternoon Fellas, I’m looking at an 89 3A 40’ Lightning, current owner doesnt know a whole hell of a lot about the boat; just looking for a bit more.. It sat rack stored under the bridge in Dredge Harbor Nj for a while. The name is “Pink Floyd“, see attached pics. If you have any info please share. Thanks.

Twin engine back then? Did not know they went to twins that early. Are they staggerd? Looks like they put some newer gauges in it too.

Lots of those were side by side twins. This was just before the coast guard changed the way you had to measure a boat so these are still titled as 40 foot.

Thanks for the info. A friend had one that was trips, it was a pretty good wave crusher, compared to my 32 Baja I had at the time. I remember it ran about 72 top end on my hand held GPS. I would like to find one (twin power) that has had the cosmetic and interior redone. The power I would rather do myself. I still like my 35, and it runs great still. But sometimes I just want a big old cool boat that does not care how big of a wake some phat arse cruiser makes. A few of them lect around here, but they are in need of some TLC.

I know of a really nice 90 42. Boat is one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. He’ll let it go at a very reasonable price. It does have fresh power. If you’re interested PM me your number and I’ll get you more info

No. It’s in Florida but is a 525sc boat. Well 454s with 250 blowers. Not exactly 525s but close. My buddy takes real good care of the boat. Power is fresh. Maybe 10-15 hours. Boat has AC and just about everything in bilge is brand new as of last year.
