While I am waiting for pictures I will advise on your problems with the free air subs. Just because they are free air subs does not mean that they do not require a box to operate. It just can be a big box. However if your back seat that they are mounted into opens up to the engine bay then that is TO BIG of a box and you will get very little output out of the subs. Try getting the enclosure down some there are lots of ways but I will try and go into it when I get the pictures so that I do not get you guys thinking about impossible ideas.

Fn: my questions are kind of general.....have you ever installed a sub in a box and mounted it inside the cabin of a boat? can you hear it topside?how about at speed?should we be looking for a topside location? How about way down at the far end of the vee berth pointing straight back at the cockpit, does it work any good, from a sound perspective?......Im kind of looking for guidelines not specific locations........Thanks....Doug

ok I try real hard to keep the subs out of the cabin. You will find that the cabin can act as a port and change the sound as it comes out the doors, harches, what have you. If it has to go up there then it does work but that is a last resort type of a deal. I am going to try and mount my subs off to the sides of my bolsters (next years job) and under the seat. We will see how that goes :D:D
