Default Fountain 38 EC versus Formula 370 SS

I am debating the Fountain 38 EC versus Formula 370 SS. Love the fact that the Fountain has the front bedroom (2002 to 2007?).

I would love to hear comments from someone that has ridden in both boat so as to compare ride. I boat on the Lake of the Ozarks and the waves can get really wicked on weekends and holidays.

Appreciate all the comments in advance.

I have not ridden on either boat however I was shopping them 3 years ago. I ended up with a diesel 400ss.

The 370ss is actually noticably bigger than the 38EC however I really liked the comparable ease of trailering the 38EC. I wanted a boat to weekend on and cover ground. Turns out diesel is much cheaper than gas on the water AND I burn 1/2 the GPH than a comparable gas 370/400ss. (Gas boat getting .8mpg @ $3/gal while I get 1.5 mpg @ $2/gal). I'm sure the smaller/lighter 38EC bets a little better MPG.

As for the berth, while we have to crawl in it's kinda nice being in a dark/quiet "cave" compared to getting up with the sun while sleeping in the bow.

Where do you boat at? At the Lake of the Ozarks diesel cost more than gas! Granted the diesel gets better mileage.

Formula is bigger, nicer, looks better, not slow and built better. Fountain is faster.

Chesapeake Bay, mostly in VA. I burned nearly 1,800 gallons last summer covering over 2,600 miles. Highest/lowest I paid all year was $1.49-1.89/gal. (yes, I was shocked too!) Gas was $2.50 or more.

Note: These are on water prices. On the road gas is cheaper than diesel.

I have had both and currently have a 38ec fountain. The fountain rides way better and is faster. It’s actually fun to drive.
