Default 2001 fever 32

2001 Fountain 32 Fever

what are these holes on the swim platform? are they air intakes ?
seems odd to have a hole there since fountains sit so low in the water..
never mind the freaking upload a pic part is not working
but they are on each side on the rounded area, looks like a grill is missing
edit
yes i found they are air intakes and this boat it seems the grills are missing?
thats why they look weird imo

Think those are bilge blower outlets you are referring to. Yes they are pretty low. I've seen where they were right at the water line with 3-4 larger folks sitting on the back during tie-ups. Don't remember seeing any with grills.

IMHO, a bad design.

I seem to remember that there were some problems with that boat being slipped with the stern facing out and taking on water through the vents.

I eas reading a few glassed o er them and moved air intake vents to side...or under bench seat sides
does seem like an accident waiting to happen

Does look like a potential problem but as long as you are aware of it...should be manageable. If I liked everything thing else about the boat I could deal with it

I have a 32 and those are the bilge blower vents. I had covers on min made of SS with the fountain spinning prop logo cut in. The vents do not dump right in, there is a tube glassed in that runs about 24" forward.

They can take water in when backing, I glassed mine over and moved to the side. Older non step 32's were on the side.

The issue I had is down here with a good tide and wind sometimes you have to back hard and the salt water would hit the bilge blower and take them out, got tired of changing them.

Wildman has it right. Bilge blower vents, but factory installed with a length of solid tubing into the bilge to "try" and minimize water backflush up the vents holes. Between the vents, the routinely submerged rubrail on the aft, and the exhaust cutouts, the 32's have VERY wet bilges I'm afraid. I wouldn't go near a 32 without a survey for moisture. That's a 24 year old boat.
