Default Has anyone put Extension Boxes on a 35 Classic Single-Step?

I have heard that extension boxes make the boat "feel" like it is longer. Does it improve handling/performance in rough water/chop? The boat does low 80's now and I want to improve the handling as much as possible before I bump up the power.

How about imco shorties? I've also heard that they can help the boat feel more sound at speed in rough conditions.

Any speed gain info would also be appreciated.

Marginmn,

Looks like they were added because the thru-transom power steering mounts are installed...just above the tabs in the second picture.
