I plan on replacing my steering wheel, I will make it a gift for myself one day. Plan on getting a purple one to match the bezels.

I take back what I said. That 04 looks awesome in the new 38 unveiled thread. You guys are right about the classic look. I must have been having a bad day.

nobodys with me on the foredeck access??....maybe its because I boat in a very beautiful but rugged and rocky area (actually an extension of the thousand islands)where it is not uncommon for me to go through 6 or 8 locks in a day, the crappy fordeck access bugs you after awhile with all the tieing up and untieing........
Or maybe you guys are all so rich that you have pre arranged people at every stop to help with all the mundane tasks like tieing up the boat.....

The Lightning's have the side walkways. No tripping over the windshield!

You can walk around the windshield on this 38.

There is a step on the inside near the rear bench seat. Then you just step over the side of the windshield and there is a ledge that you can walk around.

Its kind of hard to see in these pictures because the deck is so high when the boat is on the trailer.

You can't do that on the Fevers. I hated the balancing act I would have to do to get up on the deck. I didn't wax a small spot just in front of the windscreen just so I wouldn't slip and bust my a$$.

I also don't like the helm. I love the look, but I don't think it's as functional as other manufactures. I felt like I was looking around the steering wheel to see the gauges.

Seeing as I don't own a Fountain, this will most likely get me in trouble. Does anyone besides me find the bolsters to low? They seem to end at my lower back and I am only abour 5' 10". Although I haven't had the opprotunity to drive a Fountain in rough water it seems as if they would not give the support I would like. For someone over 6 foot the Fountain Bolsters would really be short.

I am not trying to bash Fountain I just want to know.
