Default race fairing pics

My machinist is going to build a race fairing for the 38 fever project. Can anyone post pics of their race fairings. The more detailed the better. Particularly the back, mounting, and finish work. If he can build it, we will be offering them at an extremely discounted price. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Those are basically the best that I have, not as much as detail you need, but a start. The backing is vinyl streched tight from below the mounting screws,up over the lip on the top and held on by the trim panels. Those are approx 2"x2" wood strips with the center routered out to fit over the top lip. The side of the fairing is just flat, with a 3/4" lip bent on top to screw the trim panel too, plus adds some strenght to it. The front has an AL tube welded across the top, on back side of the panel to give arc shape and strenght. The trim panels are screw it the tube. I don't know if the panel is all 1 peice or 3 peices welded in the corners and finished. BTW, it is all aluminum. Any other questions, I'll try to answer best I can.

If you can build them reasonable, it sure seems like there are a lot of interested owners in this forum that will be interested.
Good Luck,
Jerry

How thick is it. About the same as the plexi, or is it boxed in. How big is the pipe welded on top. Is there anything you would want different than stock? Anyway to improve the original. We can definitely build them, and hopefully should be about half the cost. Thanks for your help, any more pics?

I would guess the thickness to be 1/16", I no longer have that boat, so can't get exact diminsions. You would be very surprised at how strong it is with the vinlyl covered trim board on top edge. It is way stronger than the plexi w/s.
No, not boxed. Just flat panels with the 3/4" lip bent on top. The top also is flat with a lip on top that is welded to the tube. The tube is only on the front. 1" dia?? and terminates in the corners. I guess if there were any place for improvements, it would be for tubes down the sides too and possibly some way to offer more support for the front tube. Just because of the fact of having to step on the passenger side grab rail and try to step over the fairing w/o putting a lot of weight on it. Always that possibilty of slipping and falling onto it then and I doubt that it will survive a direct fall. We always just held on to it to keep our balance while stepping over, not to hang onto.
