When all the high spots are sanded down
with a 4' sanding bar the hull will be checked with a 6' straightedge. If OK the bottom will be sprayed with seven coats of gel and then checked for straightness, sanded and resprayed. |

I will try to get back out to Nabber's sometime
next week. Maybe the port side will be ready to be sprayed with gel :) :) :) |
Kewl! Pictures are great. Keep them coming.
My boat's in the shop right now also getting the bottom the once over. But not near what your is. Aren't they supposed to be blueprinted from Fountain when made? |
US1 Fountain
On my boat starting with the step closest to the bow,the edges progressively get sharper, BUT not as sharp as they're gonna be..:D :p Also keep in mind that my old girl has a few years on her. The hull has definatley taken a different shape than when it first was pulled out of the mold. |
Cool shots! I can see a lot of work goes into blueprinting. Is a 6 foot straight edge long enough to see if the running surface is flat? I was told that you should go 12 foot or more. 12 feet seems like a lot to me but I would be interested in hearing what your Gel Guy thinks. Maybe next time I can make the trip with you.
