Is there a simple and cost effective way to pick up 3-5 mph on a stock 502MPI ? Current speed is 68-70 with 28 Bravo 1 prop. I know it could be supercharged or built up but that would require upgrading the drive. Just want to make it go a little faster without turning into a major project ... if thats possible.

Any feedback would greatly be appreciated.

Grs...I you are looking for 3-5, if your prop isnt blue printed or lab finished that is your best bet to start with. Houston prop on this board has alot of good results posted about their work. 5 mph may be a stretch if you prop isn't seriously damaged. Most prop shops will want to know a few things about the boat, like weight, and rpm that you are running now. Plus anything that you want to correct beside just the top speed.

I had a 502 mpi in a 26' scarab, I took off the mpi and put a Victor Jr. high rise intake manifold, stainless marine exhaust and a holley 830 cfm carb and the motor dyno'd at 470hp from 415. the boat went from 62 to 67 mph..........
