new 2004 ICBM
|
I like that boat!!
|
I've heard rumors all last summer about this boat.
I'm glad to see it in production. I believe there are still a lot of people out there that still prefer the "classic"deck. How much? |

Inter Continental Balistic Missle...........

Interesting..I wonder if charlene will wish she would have delt harder on the left over 2000 42 she had with staggered 500's this fall. This is going really deperciate that 2000.
Wonder what the price will be on these? $225-$250ish? |
I like it too! Only it should come standard with the fairing.

Von bongo
Im wondering if they have new management over at raymonds they have been pricing there boats a little different lately, your right on the 2000 42. later |
Hey Troutly,
How do you like the 525's? Do they run as rich as the 500 EFI's? Hope you can make it out on Lake Michigan this year. You will love our little inland lake.;) :D Dan |

Fountain is saying 83 to 84.
|
it wont surprise me if you see 85-86 out of them with good props. the 525 is alot stronger motor then the 500s. 525's run allmost like 575's.

Hey Jeff,
Thanks. I tried to buy one over the last few days . Called a local dealer who told me the boats would retail out around 225 to 230,000. I figured that sounded right considering the price drop on the Executioner. The ICBM was supposed to have reduced pricing. The price I got back shocked me. Somehow the ICBM went up to 300,000+ in a few days. Oh well!!!! He said if they dropped the price that much it would effect the resale of the 42's. I told him being a 35 owner I know about Fountain killing the resale. I'll buy used or left over. I'll copy the dealer sheet and post it later tonight. Dan |

I would like the new ICBM a lot more if Fountain went ahead and made it a 2004 'retro' version, recalling the original ICBM's.
Solid red (or other solid color) with the gold graphics and original-style lettering. Maybe even an updated, modern interpretation of the radar arch. The original ICBM, in my opinion, was a true offshore classic. There was NO mistaking the Fountain ICBM. Even from a distance. BTW: Does ANYONE have pictures of one of the original 40' (12 meter) ICBM's? I have searched extensively on the Internet. All I can find is the 33' (10 meter). |
Rouxsterre,
I own an origanal 12 meter Icbm. I can e-mail you some pics of the boat. Just for yuks the boat is currently for sale. |

Love to see those pictures - [email protected] I'll post em if you want. --- don't worry about resizing, I'm on a broadband link. . . Also - 'just for yuks' - include the asking price. |
Yes...Please post, I loved those big red machines!
|
B4M - You're not the only one. True offshore Classics.
The ICBM was OUTRAGEOUS in its day. Must have really pissed off the mainstream. Maybe even contributed to a part of the polarization of 'Fountain vs the World'. |

I`d love to see a retro ICBM. I had a 10M ICBM and it was a tough boat. The coasties seemed to like it also :D
One night me and a few friends were about 5 miles off Boston in the middle of the night and it had started pouring like mad. We were tearing threw the rain and out of nowhere a Coast Guard boat had pulled us over. And within seconds a giant CG cutter pulled up against the other side  We were now sandwiched betweeen the coasties and they were all on deck with machine guns pointed at us. The head of the unit spoke over a bull horn and said "declare your weapons"....I had none other than a flare gun but they sure did`t believe me.. Two of them boarded my boat and thoroughly searched the vessel. after several very tense minutes they were comfortable that there in-fact were no weapons on board. as we were going to be set free, one of the machine gun wielding Coasties asked what ICBM stood for and I shouted Intercontinental Ballistic Missile!!!! and they all hooted and cheered pumping their fists into the air! We later found out that the Coast Guard had been on the lookout for a red go-fast with a load of automatic weapons on board. :D I loved my ICBM!!!! :D:eek: |

This is an original ICBM 12 Meter. It has supercharged engines and speedmaster drives. I am the original owner and purchased the boat in 1987. According to Reggie Fountain in 1987 while the boat was being built at the factory ICBM stands for "Inter Continental Boating Machine". The boat is still run today and in my opinion it is a true offshore classic.

Welcome to the Board, 40.
That is a beautiful example of the Original. If you don't mind, what did a boat like that sell for in 1987? I'm just interested in a comparison to 2004 pricing. And, what state are you in? |
in 1990 list on a 40 (42) with twin 365's was 120,000.
they could be bought in the mid 90's |
That's a pretty good example of how @ most any size, the prices have doubled give or take, in <15 yrs. RIDICULOUS . What else has doubled?...your wages?? :hothead:
|
Back in '87 there was NOTHIN' like that on the water. There was no mistaking an ICBM, even from a distance.
If you concentrate, you can actually hear that thing idling across your screen. . . . . |
40, you have an awesome Fountain.
Thanks for sharing it with us, we'd love to see more pics. The more original, the better...Congrats keeping it & in such nice shape for so long. |
More pictures would certainly be nice. Got anything from the interior maybe?
Is it original power? What power is in it? How does she run? Where does she run? For sale? |
Nice Fountain!
I have some pics of a red 35 that has the ICBM paint job, I will try to find the photos. |

Happy Holidays,
I am enclosing a few more pictures of the Fountain that were taken this year. It is in the sling getting ready to be put in the water for the season. I would like to answer some of your quesitons. In 1987 the cost of the boat was 129,000 which included a Myco trailer, Mercury #2 speedmasters and supercharged engines. The dash is the same as the earlier picture in this post with Reggie Fountain. I had the interior redone a few years ago. It has the orginial power since 1987 but this winter I am getting the engines redone with 540 Cu engines. I really enjoy the performance handling of the Fountain. Happy New Year |
