27,29,32

Looking for some feedback on overall ride and performance between 27,29 and 32. Is there that much of a difference in ride between a 27 to 29 to ....32.

Is it worth the extra dollar to go with a larger hull and twin motors or is a single SC big block in a smaller hull ok?

Looking for an 80 to 85 mph boat, and not sure if we have to go to a 32 to handle the speed.

I had a 27 with a blower that would run 83. Boat was great, but you gotta watch what's going on when running at that speed. Very comfortable at 70mph though.
I now have a 32, big difference in ride. It takes at least twin HP500's to break 80mph in the 32's. Stock 502 mags put you right at 75-76.

29' w/575 should get you there:)

A 29' should handle 80 mph fine.

We owned a 27 with a 500 H.P and a 32 with twin 500 H.P's. Were are you boating? Their is no comparison in their ride. The 32 because of the weight of 2 motors and a longer bottom rides alot better in rougher conditions. The 27 is a nice boat as long as you match the boat to the conditions, lakes, rivers ect. Having 2 motors is a little insurance if one quits your not dead in the water. Water test both in conditions you intend to boat in. Like 105_38 said the 29 is probably the best of both worlds, more cockpit room, and will handle the extra power if you ever put more hp in the motors.

I have a 29 and a 32, both twins. The 29 has warmed over 502s, about 575 HP. and runs 91-93, This boat is a hand full. You have to drive it and be extremely careful in sloppy water. At 85 to 88 is drives great. The 32 has 572's and runs 100 plus and is on a string in smooth water but is a little squirmish in a slop. As far as I am concerned I would never have another single. If you can afford it go twins.

Twins for sure!! The ride, performance and sound make all well worth it. I would recommend you consider the 35 as well. Not too much more than a 32, but even better ride. A well dialed in 35 will run away from a 32 even with the same power

I think if your going used, theres not that much of a
price differentail from a 29 to a 32. I like twins,my
32 handles great, but I think it gets a little wild
in the slop at high speeds. Our lake has alot
of boat traffic,so there are some serious wakes
to deal with. I say,the bigger,the better.:)

Hey LPBoater, I've never had a 35 run away from my 32. I think it's a power to weight thing.
