04 29ft fever
 

looking at a 29ft fever with a 525 the new itc standoff box and a bravo 1 xr drive. Any pros or cons about this boat> Any ideas on possiable speeds.

I have an 04 29 Fever w/ 525 XR drive. I don't know about the standoff box but mine is box stock equipped from the factory.
I can get 83 mph on the GPS speedo, loaded with 3/4 tank of fuel, one other passenger & a 1/2 rack of beer & ice.
I only put 8 hours on it before I winterized it so the 3 times I took it out were awesome.

did they ever fix the swamping issue or was that just operater error. This is my biggest concern. I looked at the 35ft execusioner with twin 496s but it was real big dog out of the whole.

I have an 04 29 with twin 6.2's and run 71 with stock B1 26" props. Just had the props labbed and increased the pitch to 27" but have to wait til spring to check the results. I am sure my boat sits lower in the stern then a single big block and I have not had any problems with leakage at the rubrail, I think the factory solved that problem with a different sealer compound or just more of it. I agree with Mike on every point...especially that she wants to go fast when it gets nasty. Also, the twins do not like speeds between 25-30, falls off plane and alot of work to drive. That is probably a great combination of boat and power. The 29 has a bigger gas tank than the 27, that would be my only complaint on a 27, I can burn 60 gallons pretty damn fast. As for speeds, probably looking at 76mph reliable.

I believe the swamping issue was with 32's with big blocks. I suppose that a 29 with twin big blocks would also sit pretty low. Check this 32 with 502's.

My single 29 should be ok I hope. The boat will sit on a mooring buoy on summer weekends. There are no wake restrictions in front of my place & I am nervous. Big boats go by throwing huge wakes.
I am nuts about my bilge dry, especially in the salt water.....
I noticed in the whole 8 hours I put on the boat I would always have a bit of water in the bilge. I would wet vac it out on the trailer & then it would reappear when I launched it. Side vents perhaps underway....
The term "swamped" spooked me..

Mine gets water in the bilge only when I put in in off the trailer, through the rear blower vents. I am sure it would be fine once you get in the water. The bilge pump should take care of any Hatteras sized wakes when you're not there.

There is at least a foot between the water and the vents at rest with a 500. I get a little splash on the sun pad with a really big wave if I'm sitting on it but it drains out lip, not into the bilge.

I suspect it is the blower vents at extreme angle when I launch it off the trailer.
I have watched the bilge & it never gets any worse, it's like less than a gallon or so.
Anyway, I'll re-evaluate the situation in April when I dewinterize.....Geez that's a long ways away.
