Steve,
The pleasure was all mine. The history behind these things is a hobby in and of itself. I'll get mine going, then we will have to go boating;) |
Bryan,
Good luck with your new toy! Even though I'm a Cig owner, I have a soft spot for the 'ol 10 Meter. I had an 89 ICBM several years ago and had a lot of fun with it! Did you find motors? Kurt |
Bryan......... Congrads on the new toy !!! What a fine lookin piece of history. The interior looks original and in excellent condition too. Is there power in it? or are you lookin for engs? I'll bet you can't wait to get it in the water. I know how I felt when we bought our 10 mtr right before winter. If there is ever anything that I can help you out with, just give me a pm or ask on one of these threads. Good luck to you.......Frank

Steve C....Post #50, GREAT picture !!! Is that boat yours? All I can say is W O W !!!
Biggus...Kurt, I think I've seen pics from Fla a few weeks ago that someone posted that had your Cig in it. I believe it was a newer Top Gun with a BEAUTIFUL paint scheme and graffics on it. Even though I'm a Fountain kinda guy, I could see myself being "a proud owner" of your Cig. Absolutely georgous !!! 32 Storm...Had a few different combinations in it the last few years, some not mine. With the 598's intercooled 1071's 950 hp's, it ran the best of 116/117 @ 6000rpm Those wer'nt my engs. With my 598's no intercoolers, 420's 10lbs boost, same props, 112/113 @5700-5800rpm With the current 557's 420's 5lbs boost (but a higher static CR) better cyl hds, more camshaft, same props, 110/111 @ 5600rpm. |
Downtown42...Lookin forward to seein you too this summer. We plan on doin all the COPS events, and even some extras like gettin a bunch of boats together to do some big time partying at the beaches on the other weekends. There are a bunch of us now talkin about it now, but I'm sure it wont be till summer when we finally make the last minute plans. You know how that $hit goes.
We (COPS) are havin a season opener party on sat 4/3, at Diversy yacht club to discuss and try to set some permanent dates for our events this summer. EVERYONE is invited to attend (member or not) to give opinions on how we can better and expand our club. If possible, you should try to attend, it starts about 7pm, but most wil arrive around 6pm. (This is for everyone) About your engs...What kind of power are you runnin now? A well set-up blower eng requires no more maintenence, (and probably less) than a naturally asp set-up. And will usually run more efficiently also, (untill your into boost), but that needs to be expected cause now your startin to make some serious HP, and it takes lots of fuel to do that. If you have any reservations about blowers, feel free to give me a call, as I've had some experience over the last several years with blown & nat asp high HP engs...Frank...708-579-5434 |
10X...
The boat in post #50 is not mine. This is Reggie's hull #1. The photo was taken at the factory in 2000. He has restored it to the original paint scheme, but updated the interior and installed a pair of 525 HP's. He is still running SSM II's. Steve C. |
10x: Stock 502 carb. Runs good now but in time either build HP or trade up. If I can get my move to LOTO, I will seriously consider CAT. Look forward to this spring. 110 is really humpin. Nice to know it is possible. How's the chine walk on your hull at top end?

DT 42...As long as there is at least a 1ft chop it really does'nt chime walk. After 100 on dead flat water it will start to walk very slowly from right to left, but not very bad at all. But you can still feel it. As you can see from the pic I'm gonna post here, there is'nt much hull in the water at 100mph. The trim tabs are about 6inches above the water level on flat water.

OMG! That last pic is crazy, Frank.
I appreciate all the help guys. I have two 454's in it now that don't run. One was hot-rodded and the other is a stock 330 horse. I am almost done rebuilding the 468, and will sell it. I'm in the process of pulling the 330 motor out of it. If that block is good, I plan on getting another 454 that is sound and build two matching motors. I'm selling the 468 as the heads are heavily ported oval ports. My current direction is to buy two sets of rec. (990) heads and then take a look at maybe stroking the 454's. I'm trying to build about 500 horse, nothing crazy. I am trying to be resourceful; (read frugal...) |
10x: yeah looks like steps ain't gonna work on that over 100!!!
