Our 2000 29 with an HP500 EFI is the same as Mike just stated. Our 24p Hydro seems to be a little to small (hits the rev limiter on rare occasion), but our 25p Hydro without any labbing seems to be a little too big. I am thinking about labbing the 25p. Stock, the 25p works great in midrange (40 mph gps at 3000 rpm) but you can feel/hear the motor being loaded harder, and it is a little more noticable trying to get on plane. Top speed didn't change from the 24p to the 25p, just lost a few RPMs.

I am already running a 25 Hydro from Fountain 74mph, WOT at 5350rpms, So I am going up to a 26 and see what happens, if I loose speed I am going to lab the 26 and then see. I will keep eveyone updated the day I do the testing.
Also Mike remember I can't carry as much fuel as you did

We ran a stock 26p Hydro on our 1996 27 Fever with a carbed 500 HP and that prop worked great. We could always hit 73 mph (gps on a lake at 800ft elevation) in the summertime with normal load (4-5 people and almost full tank of fuel) and the WOT rpms were right at 5200. When it would cool down outside, we could run76 mph! If you trimmed the tabs too high or overtrimmed the drive, though, the boat's handling got a little goofy. What we really needed was to drop the tabs a little and add more horsepower. That would have fixed the handling issues and still kept the speed - or maybe added more mph! The prop also had a diffuser ring installed because it tended to blow out rather easily.

Thanks for the input I will be running close to the same set up. My goal will be to hit 76mph on GPS, I am running a 500efi. I actually will not be testing until April at the earliest.

I've got a LH 24" Hydro that was repitched to 25 that was a spare for my 98' 29 Single. That prop pushed the boat 75mph. It has been cleaned up by Murphy's prop shop in Virgina and is sitting in a box. If you need a LH spare let me know.
