Terry,

I have an '04 29 with twin 6.2's I checked and there is not enough room to mount fenders on the bottom side and clear the engines. If yours is a single, you probably can mount two of them towards the outside and clear the exhaust manifolds. I have seen the mounts on the 35 and up and they look good...clean, easy to reach, etc. I think the stainless mounting brackets are available from West Marine or other retail outfits. Good luck and let us know how you make out. Where ya from?

You probably can't see to well from this pix but I put 2 8.5" fenders in the space between the stingers. I cover them with the mesh from a Ford Taurus and hook the elastic on the white button that is circled in the pix to firmly hold the fenders in place.

The rope goes under the fender so it does not flop around.

The Taurus mesh fits bulkhead to transom perfectly but I had 3 taurus's in a row as company cars and some were elastic and others used rope. I have seen a similar mesh at Walmart for under $10 but I don't know how it mounts.

I like the stainless steel rail mounts but they cost a small fortune.

My 27' had what appeared to be cloths baskets on both sides of the motor. They were held in by rope tied to whatever was available to secure them. Worked great.

BE careful in doing so. Read an article that any thing stored in the engine compartment takes away from the air space (volume) needed for the engine(s) to breathe.

We were thinking of doing the same in our 47 but decided against it due to all the heat and all over the other equipment all ready mounted in the engine room.

Just a $.02 thought
