Blue Annodize Paint
#1
I was looking to find some paint close to Merc Factory blue at Walmart and saw a can called Annodize It. It looked interesting so I tried it.
It looks just like the shiney blue powder coat paint when sprayed ON BARE METAL. I think it is translucent like a blue cellophane. It does not work over primer or other paint although the can does list their own special type of primer.
It runs pretty easily too but it looks good with no surface prep.
For some reason, over chrome comes out purple but aluminum is blue.

I can see it now, EVERYTHING will be getting repainted.
I would guess that painted over polished surfaces would give the best anodized look???

I haven't tried anything well polished but even brushed stainless comes out looking pretty good. My only thought is that it might get brittle and flake off but we'll see.
It's worth a try.
