info
No problem, Marty at fountain just called me and gave me the scoop with the boat...
Originally the boat was sold to a Gary Miller and powered with 420's and his performance sheet said that it did 71mph at 5250rpm, the fellow was not happy so the swapped out the engines with 475hp's no data on trials then in 1992 the 525sc were installed again no data...the story continues... |
ahhhh, they never do......:)

forgetg, congrats on the new rig and welcome. I've got an older hull with TRS's. Run the F'rs till they fall off! It's a great drive just don't feel tempted to take them apart. They're old and old stuff tends to break when you tear into it. The big thing is to make sure your trany coolers aren't leaking. If you run them full of water or run them dry you'll be spending some $$$. Try talking to Gail Lane at Fountain in customer service. She's a great resource and will bend over backwards to get you what you need or to the person who will get you what you need.

Jonas, how's the new ride?
We broke last month so we're having Morgans build up some real motors. I'm supposed to get the first one this weekend. |
Thanks for the info Lofty, when i have the engines pulled I will have the transmission coolers checked, with all other coolers....the scags are in poor shape also I will have to have a shop repair them, I was also going to have a shop check the outdrives at the same time....

lofty,
ran it last nigt did the taco tuesday run, must have been 15+ nice boats,, fun ride, finally got a chance to take it out,, i runs good,, its just so different with the big steps vs no steps!! it gets to 90 lickedy split.. i havent stood on it as i dont want anything to break and i dont want to get over my head untill i know what it likes,, to 90 its solid as heck.. i used to work next to tims shop on parkside he builds nice stuff,, what kind of power are u getting?? its not gonna be the ___ball its gonna be the fastball |
Jonas,
Can't wait to see it! Carefull with those steps, from what I hear they have a bite. No pun intended. I wanted to run the Taco Tues thing but.... well... no power! We're doing some sound 454's with Merlin heads, Weiand intake and Lightning headers. Tim figures it should have enough juice to bust my drives if I'm too rough with it. I'm itching to see what it'll do with some real HP for once. Looks like the paint will have to wait till next year. At least I cleaned the C' Ball off the side! Did you work with Ralph at DK?!?!? |
YES, You know ralph??
