Hey Steve,
As per my conversation with Frankie of Francescos , he gave me the following sites to monitor for ocean conditions.. They are excellant. He says if we are running off the beach, any wind out of the the north, less then 18mph will be ok.. Any southerly winds under 14mph are ok. of course watch the wave height + frequency info.
The first buoy is 25miles off Islip:

The second buoy is off of Montauk:

Not yet,iv'e been a bad boy!!! workin on the deck and soon to be installed pool but i think its just seaweed and i hope to look into it this weekend cause i gotta use up some of that gas in it
