10 Meter project

2 Attachment(s)
I have just finnished the transom work. Whew, what a chore...

I've started to do some of the things that were planned before the mulch project.

First, engine bay. New paint and diamond plate. Before pics...

Re: 10 Meter project

Am I missing something? What are all the pumps mounted on the bulkhead for? 2 for the drive trim (one each) and 2 for the tabs (one each). What are the other 2?

Re: 10 Meter project

Brian,
Are your battery trays screwed down to the bottom of the boat or are they bolted thru the stringers?
Thanks,
Dan

Re: 10 Meter project

Pach,

The outboard two are for hatch lifts. Fountain robbed the parts bin and used an old hydraulic cylinder that was originally an assist for 400 TRS cable steering. I know this because I had one that was leaking. Robert Toll (sp?) from Fountain gave me the scoop. They use the same pumps as k-plane/outdrive but lowered the pressure so as not to blow the seals out.

Dan,

They have two screws in the bottom of the tray and two bolts through the stringer.

As an aside, for everyone that has complained about Fountain service the people that I have spoken with at the factory have been more than helpfull. They know that I have an old boat that I'm trying to get working. Each person has spoken with me as though I've met them before. Thanks Fountain!

Nice job Brian! Looks sano. Did you plug the transom and re-cut for Bravos? I'm interested, I'll be doing mine sooner than I'de like.

Re: 10 Meter project

Thanks for the encouragment.

I kept the #2's that were on it. I'm on a budget so rerigging for Bravos was not an option. Part of the reason that this has taken so long to do is because I'm doing the work myself.

Tom-sounds like a plan. I have some orange shag carpeting lying around that I was just gonna throw out, but maybe your 42 could be its new home... :p

Tom,

What is Wickedwon?

If my boat looked like that, I'd never drive it. Hate to get it dirty :p

Re: 10 Meter project

Wicked Won is a 41 Saber w/ big Sterlings. Do a search in the General section and the big Apache thread, theres a lot of pictures and info of it.

Your engine compartment looks great. Can't wait to see how the rest of the boat turns out.
