I am going to look at a 88- 29" Fountain with big blocks and was wondering how they ride or does anybody have any experience with one they could share such as speed and how it handles.......

I have an '88 "29" and put a tape measure on it at the dealer's yard. It measured 30'6" nose to transom. These boats with stock power (454/330, B/W trans and TRS drives will GPS 62 to 64 Full of fuel (140 gallons) and four people on the boat. They are heavy (in comparison to what is on the market today) but the only boat I would trade mine for would be a 42 or longer. I did a post on this weird length thing several weeks ago, and someone pointed out that his 8.8 meter actually measured 3" shorter than his buddy's newer '32. Upgraded to full hydraulic steering and corsa silent choice so far....

Yeah, it's an 89' 29. I just built a set of 502's with Merlin heads and Lightning headers. Damn thing hauls ass now! It's a heavy boat but it's more fun to drive now with some HP. What do you have in yours?

oohhh I've had a couple a' beers over here tonight... 100+?
ok ok I'll wake up, I had a solid 77 on the GPS.
I'm headed out tomorrow with Barry. He's got fresh power and needs to set up and I'm still swapping props. We'll see what happens but I don't expect anymore speed. With strong motors and pushing for more speed you know what's gonna' brake next.
