Stereo Upgrade 27 Fever
I am looking to upgrade (add on) the Kenwood Stereo in my 2000 27 fever... I want to add an amp to run the 4 6 inch factory speakers... and add another amp that would run 2 10 inch subs..... The problem here is...... where in the world can you mount the 2 10's...
I have read that in the rear seat is bad because of the box going to the engine compartment......
Any help on where to add the subs... That are not in the way... and look nice....
I thought about under the bolsters... but thats where my coolers go?
HELP

Re: Stereo Upgrade 27 Fever
I have a 96 27' and removed the mirror in the v berth, sealed the bulkhead with expanding foam, mounted a 12" sub on board which I mounted from behind and sealed it in, next I used the original mirror parts made a template, covered it with grillcloth and installed it where the plexiglass used to be so it looks factory and really hammers! I have heard the same boat with 4 10's in the back seat and my setup blows it away for a fraction of the cost plus its out of the way and takes up zero storage space!

Re: Stereo Upgrade 27 Fever
My stereo is as follow
Sony Deck
Sony 6 disc changer
Sony wired Remote on dash
2 Rockford Punch 250 one for tweete and mid, one for subs
1 Pair MB Quart tweeters
2 pair Kicker 6.5s
1 pair Kenwood Stock in cabin
2 Kicker 10" comp subs in sealed boxes
I have my subs in sealed boxes under the bolster seats, then carpeted them purple to match my carpet, you don't even notice them until I turn it on.
If you PM me your e-mail I will send you pictures of all of it, I would post them but have had problems since OSO went to new format.
WILL
PS My current combo jams sounds like a night club.

Re: Stereo Upgrade 27 Fever
Just upgraded my system this Winter, added 2 MB Quart 10" subs in the front of the bench seat. Some subs are designed to require an enclosure, some are made to perform better without one. MB Quarts are the latter.
Also did a Rockford Fosgate CD/MP3 head unit with wired remote, Memphis Audio amp, 4 MB Quart 6x9's. Puts off about a 3" wake with the anchor down.
I tied it all into my Tiger comm system with a MA Audio pre-amp line driver. VHF and/or internal communications mute the stereo. At speed, I can hear the tunes on the Tiger headsets, and feel it in my feet. But for some reason, my crew won't let me jam to AC/DC with our helmets on.
These guys have no sense of adventure.

Re: Stereo Upgrade 27 Fever
A simple way could be to have your two subs (or one big one) in a box, have some screw in eyelets so you could bungee it down in the cabin pointing towards the cockpit and leave the door open while underway . Then have some extra cord so you could bring it out and set in the cockpit when on the hook.......not as awesome as the above set ups but would probably get the job done..........doug
