For $190k, I'll...........be riding on Candyman's.

Von Bongo,
You dealing with Charlene at Raymond's? They sure have boats a long time. At some point, you'd think it's time to move them. They are not "collectibles".

HP Fountain... take it easy. You sure you want your boss to have to deal with the fall-out of throwing prices out like that??

Those are the prices I have heard also. If my 97 35' hadn't taken such a big hit on resale I'd own one. The 42X is a nice package for the money.

(This came from Reggie himself, and she will show you the pic that he wrote it on). She is a very down to earth lady, and eveyone who has ever bought a Fountain from her is completely satisfied. She doesn't carry a huge stock because they are usually sold before they arrive. She also orders a ton of cusom boats for people.
I agree Charlene is a great person but I have to disagree that they deal with the best of them. I tried to buy a 4 or 5 year leftover new boat last year and they still wanted their invoice price and wouldn't budge. I'd love to buy from them but I am not paying new price for a 5 year old boat. We will see again in the spring but I am afraid it will be the same thing again.

Are you serious - asking invoice for a 4 year old leftover. What size boat was it and what price were they asking?

I believe that was the 47' wasn't it, I agree that she was way too high on it, and that is what really turned me off the 47'. Well that and the fact that you would have to get a permit to go anywhere with it since its 9' wide. I guess I am back to reality of a 35 or a 42.

It was a 1998 or 1999 42 with staggered 500's carb model I think maybe EFI's. She wanted her cost for it which was in the 230K range. Since you can buy the same boat today with 525's for that I think that is excessive. I was also interested in the 99 Cig that is brand new and she is still asking $190K for it. Boat used is about $125 so I think maybe new on the lot will be worth a little more but not $75K. Also I doubt that Merc would warranty the motors at this point.

Don't get me wrong, Charlene is a nice person and they are very successful but in my opinion only, they sometimes hold on to inventory too long. BTW that 42 is gone so they got it moved to someone.
