Any comments on a 29' Fountain with T-350's? Would be used mostly in fair weather on a lake that usually has a 1-3' chop. Something for the kids etc. before the big move up. Good choice?

what year of a 'twinn 29'??.....I have a non step 29 with twin 350 mags (carb) pad bottom/notched transom...... 270hp see 65 on a good day....does 4 footers easy....just trim in a bit and pour the throttles to it, it will smooth out very controlled and ROCK.......it can take it, its a Fountain......hates 6 footers though.......the plan calls for some 383s or 406s in the 425hp range/550tq......then look out........the engine builder is talking 427s or 454 smallies.....we'll see........doug

Fever Mike- did your boat hate 6 footers as much as mine does??.......sometimes I feel like putting it to the wood and going for it cause I think it could do it (get up on top and run) but I dont think anything less than full throttle would work..........it would be really hairy...........however I always seem to have a bunch of of passengers on board and thats not the thing to be doing in that situation............ever see anything like that in Factory1 racing ........doug

I have a single and it will do 76-78 all day with normal load. What body of water? The twins would be a good choice if you are on BIG water. Mine in 4 footers isnt fun at all.
I LOVE my boat and it is such a great value. Single motor, upper 70s all day, GREAT BIG cockpit. Looks great, sounds great, handles great... all for well under 100K.
If I had to have twins, I would get the 350s in a second. If not, the 525 is a great package.
1 to3 footers should be a great ride. The boat handles like a race car.

Mike- I measure them (I think it IS the wrong way, but it is the way probably 90% of people measure them) from the very bottom of any one particular wave to the top of that same wave.......I think the 'proper' way of measuring is what would amount to my way of measuring less 50%......so what I call a 6ft wave would actually be a 3ft wave......yes???...........And yes my 29 would handle like chit in 'your way' 6ftrs/ my way12 ftrs.....actually I dont know because I would leave it on the trailer
