I will repeat what "Formula Outlaw' had to say...

"Well you must admit this "coincidence" appears a mite odd.

A friendly suggestion if I may. BS'ers, crank yankers, and "knobs" in general do not last long around here.

At the same time this Forum welcomes everyone who is a "straight shooter".

We value this Forum immensely, in more ways than a non member could ever know. We also protect it. That's what makes this Forum so close knit and work as well as it does."

fountain did have and option where they had the y-pipe, no diverter, and mufflers below the swim platform. We would remove the mufflers and cap the y-pipe to the transom. what year is the boat?

I have a 2003 35 TS Lightning with 500HP's and this same exhaust setup (Y-pipe but no switch in cockpit for Silent Choice) and I have wondered the same thing. My boat seems a little faster than other 35's with same power (90 mph with stock engines) and the salesman who sold it to me thought it might be because I had "straight pipes". Does anybody really know why Fountain built them this way?

Show us a pic. The one fellow said his exhaust goes through the prop. As far as I know If the exhaust goes down the y-pipe they meet as one under the motor and goes through the transom and comes out by the gimble not through the prop. I could be wrong. But you must ask my wife she is always right.
