35 Ft Fountain Exhaust

I Just Bought A 35 Ft Fountain And I Am Wondering Why The Exhaust Goes Thru The Hull And Also Thru The Prop. Can This Be Changed To Just Thru The Hull?

I Called The Fountain Factory Today And They Told Me I Have Both Because The Exhaust Coming Out Of The Prop Helps To Get The Boat Up On Plane.

??? I dont think tthat helps get the boat on plane...There is no switch to the right of the helm??
