Default 42 staggered

Seems to me that the 42 is the way to go...going to make runs across the gulf, or bahamas. Any comments/whatever....or are you selling a 42 stagger anytime soon...I think the Velocity just sold...

42 is the nicest model Fountain ever built. Nice rough water boat. go 525's stagg'd and you will love it.

Hey, I am a Cig. guy. What do you mean we get pissed when we loose?

I had a 99 42ft w/ 500's. I loved the boat! It is a great all around boat. You won't be dissapointed.

Hey FOX - I'm thinking kinda along the same lines as you.
Right now I'm driving a 98 Fever 32'er. An older ( maybe non-step ) 42'er, staggered, semi-PR setup, with 525's and Konrads would probably be my ideal next boat. With the Fountain, I think you can get a LOT of boat for pretty reasonable money.
The 32'er just isn't QUITE big enough for the Pacific Ocean when it kicks up in the afternoons. I have yet to ride in a 42, but everything I'm hearing about em sounds great. . . . keep us posted on your progress.

As far as stepped vs. non stepped, I drove a friends 35 Donzi zf last year for quite a while on the Detroit River, and had no real problems with that bottom, as far as the usual stuff associated with steps...Boat drove real nice and just seemed to feel a little slippery around corners, but not to the point of being unpredictable.

I guess my point is, I would go stepped if in doubt, to pick up the extra mph, just be easy on the cocktails until you get used to the ride.

Will keep you posted on the 42', gotta be one out there with my name on it...

I have a one-of-a-kind 42' Fountain I will be selling in a few months. It is a 1992 non stepped bottom with a six man stand up cockpit, perfect for poker runs and still has a cabin. It is a staggerred setup and I have new motors being built. What power and drives are you looking for? I am thinking about putting new Xr's and Stellings ext boxes on. Even if I add all that it will still be less than $100k. The interior is being redone all white as we speak along with a new Sumbrella cover and I am thinking about updating the paint as well. If this is something that you are interested in PM or Email me and we can do colors you like, power etc... The boat has a really cool history I will tell you about later and only 117 hours on the hull.

Oh I just ordered a new trailer yesterday should be here in about two weeks.

The 42' Fountain is one of the easiest boats to drive I have ever owned this is my second.

If your wallet will allow I would try to get into a stepped
bottom 42.
With a non-stepped bottom big power will be needed
to achieve desired speeds.
