Anything Going On?
 

Anything planned or ideas for the next couple of weekends or the rest of the month?
My boat is back from the shop, need to test her out.
Here's the best part, they had the boat for two weeks. When I got it back, took it to the ramp, dumped it in the water, started it up, ... ... ... Same problem. Alarm still going off.
Spent a grand, still had the problem.
She's fixed now, should have done the work myself to start with. lol You live and learn. Anyway, nice to get it back out on the water.

Who lost an engine this past Sunday in a nice lookin Formula right off Bonita Beach around 10am ???? Looks like they had a boat full of people headin south when they came off plane ..... idled for a while .... then turned around and idled up north along the beach back toward FMB. :(

I was out this past sunday with the family. I launched from Cape Coral midpoint. A Formula launched right after me. If its the same boat. I saw him around Estero area. then head back to FMB. Nice looking boat. White with red and blue strip.

I headed innercostal up to North Captiva. Anchored out there for some fun and sun.
I have a bud visitng this weekend from Chi-town. I will be out on Saturday. Dont know where yet. Probrably will fly by FMB see how the waters are. Maybe down towards bonita. If they're rough I will stay inland of Sanibel.

Hey I miss all you guys. :( Now if I were down there I would be happy to organize a run. :D Someone will have to pick up the ball till I get back in late Sept.
Predator left Ft Meyers last night and will be here in Ontario tomorrow afternoon. Saturday we have a Poker Run on Lake Simcoe which is an hour north of Toronto then we go down to Laconia, New Hampshire next week.
I will keep in touch some over the summer months and look forward to next fall and winter. If anyone is coming this way be sure to contact me.
Will see Jayboat if he comes to Toronto for the OSS races in July. :D

Hey Bob, if the wind from the north kicks up Saturday and Simcoe gets ugly, do you perchance have room for my butt in the big boat????? 6 foot rollers and a 25 foot cat can get real ugly real fast. I make a really talented boat Biotch and line jockey :)

Hey Sean,

Yes, I will have room for you. Light on crew this weekend as some of my buds head down to Laconia Friday to get a head start on things. I think they will be dead by the time I arrive. :drink: I told Raymond I would have room for some of his boys as well.

Sure will Bob. I'm planning on heading up to the port friday afternoon, weather permitting :). Taking the day off so I can toss a spit shine on the daytona in the morning, give her a once over and then I'm rolling from Aurora. I'll launch and then check in to the hotel, grab some ice and get the party started :) See you there.

Ok see you Friday pm. BTW I splashed the Formula 292 in Muskoka yesterday. Rides great and will serve me well on those smaller lakes. Let me know when you are in that part of the world. :D

We are planning for dinner at cabbage key some time around6 or so we will be up there. But before that I am sure we will be around fort myers beach and then head on the outside of sanible to captiva to charley's pass.

With the weather this saturday, Bob wished he was still there :) My wife and I had the pleasure of running with Bob on double r performance's poker run and it was friggin cold and rough. Had a blast with Bob as our captain tho. Maybe you folks could ship some florida heat up here for us? Please????

Not missing much in the weather dept. down here. Yes, it is still in the 80's, but raining. And our first named storm of the year, Tropical Storm "Alberto" will be turning into a class 1 hurricane later today, if it hasn't already. Winds were up to 70 mph at 12:00 pm. WooHoo!

Wish I could be down there with all of you. My 342 is hanging out up here at the Redneck Riviera, Lake Raystown.

Have a great summer y'all and I'll let you know when I'm coming down. I'll be boatless, but I'm sure one of yous won't pass up $10 in gas money for a spot on your crew! :evilb:

All I can do is laugh at this point.
Took it out for a quick run last Friday.
Seems to be a leak coming from the water pump. Couldn't figure out why the boat would not come up on a plane until I opened the engine hatch and saw a boat load of water. So back it goes.
I think I remember someone recommending their mechanic here.
Who is he? And what is his number? Think I need to find a new one.

I think it's Bob's mechanic. I don't remember his name but I do remember Bob posting his name in one of his past posts - check the posts under Ft. Myers Offshore forum.

I'm sure the boat will be fine - just needs a few small tweeks and you'll be tearing it up in no time!

I am keeping my fingers, toes, legs, arms, and eyes crossed that this will be the weekend that I actually get to use the boat. I am also praying to the Weather Gods as well as the Boat Gods.

Any ideas for the weekend of the 4th?
Don't they have fireworks displays on the river in Cape Coral at the Cape Coral Bridge?
And Fort Myers does theirs at Centennial Park on the river too?
We could anchor up and watch both?
Or, spend one day at Keywaden, the next day at Cayo Costa/Boca Grande?
Just throwin ideas out there?

all those ideas sound good- maybe some of the other guys will check in with comments on the holiday wknd and fireworks shows in the area. pros and cons? The only drawback I can think of is the darkness factor after a fireworks show is over.

I'll be happy to meet you at the ramp anytime. In addition to more pix of the boats, I would like to get more shots of local destinations from the water to use in conjunction with the maps.

Heading out tomorrow with Jay to get some pics of the area for the new FMO website. We will be heading out from Punta Rassa and heading north towards Cayo Costa/Boca Grande.

We had a beautiful day on the water- as always, there was plenty goin on.

I was taking pictures before I got to the ramp... group of egrets were feeding in an overflowing drainage canal about a halfmile from the causeway... doin a cool little dance- glide/stroll as they randomly launched back and forth over the water. Couple of gofasts came by near captiva- they were by us so quick I only got one shot. Anchored for a while at lani kai-- lots of stories goin on in all around us there... :D (big surprise)

I just did some service on my boat this past weekend (oil,filters,seawater pumps,fuel filters,etc) Went for a quick ride today.
Launched at Cape Coarl midpoint. Went to Fort MYers Beach. Buzzed around there for about 1/2 hour. Then cruised up the outside of Sanibel to Captiva. Went inside at Redfish pass and cruised the inner coastal back to the midpoint ramp. 4 hours and Hmmmm 400.00 in Fuel later. We were running 65-75. Calm day.

Got home washed boat, parked about 10 min later the downpour came..... LAst time out not so lucky....

Went to the beach today in Destin with Shea ran into a guy with a 43 Nor-Tech named Beer Money hung out with them for a while, and watched them jumpers land on the beach across from AJ's really cool, 10-15 at a time, skimming the water and pinpoint landings on the beach,allot of Mermaids, and allot of boats.Post pics later.
