Unlike Nigeria, you will not be able to pass our borders with just an OSO T shirt !! Passport is not yet required but a birth certificate and drivers licence will do. Picture ID as well if not on your drivers licence.
Many Americans are yet unaware that there is a new law coming into effect I think in 2008 that will require all Americans leaving the country to have a passport to get back in. They are also working on a new secure id card but there is a lot of concern about meeting the upcoming deadline and the workability of it all. Going to cause huge chaos at your borders. Beat the rush and get your passport in order.
