What type of Budget?
Offshore performance specialties in Ft MYers does alot of repowers. They have some 496 + ho's. I was going to do the same to my 272(swap a 454 mpi for a 496) but really decided then I wanted a bigger boat. Give Donnie a call 239-489-0884.

I think a 496 is about 9-10K.

I met with Donnie on Friday and discussed different options. Prices have gone up. 496HO is about 13-14k now. He has a "Demo" motor. One of Mercurys less than 5 hour motors that they warranty just like a new motor, for a little less.
Just thought I would ask around, see if there were any other options out there.
I appreciate the info. Looks like I am on the right track.

Terry,

What motor is currently in your Baja? I take it that it isn't salvage-able?

Hey Craig,
I have the stock 454 MPI Magnum 385hp. It is seized up. Not sure of the total damage at this point. If it is terminal, I would like to upgrade on the HP on the next motor. If it is not terminal, I would like to upgrade the HP! lol
