Don,

Thanks I am very optimistic(knock on wood) We should be fine. Its just that I was a Boy scout and like to be prepared for any eventuality. I will say that no other sport that I have been involved with has ever tested my patience level like high performance boating. But boat or no boat I will see you Saturday.

Dennis(bowtye8) has been kind enough to offer us a ride in his outlaw, but seeing that he is out of Cape Coral, I would like to see if any of our Naples gang will have empty seats on Saturday just in case. Thanks guys.

John, you and Johnny are always welcome to jump on with me. I am light on crew for this run. I will be on the Island Thurs. evening. Give me a call. :D

Wow John. How do they say it, If not for bad luck, you'd have none at all. Hope you get everything put back together in time. I also was a Boyscout, but I've about decided there's no way to be completely prepared when it comes to boating. Since we'll be in Key West, if you feel the need to drive a Baja, mine's sitting lonely at Moss Marine if you want to shake the cobwebs off her! See you soon.

We need a head count for fuel, and how much each will need!!! ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We can get it deliverd to Joes Crab

Specialized 10-16-2007 06:58 PM

Thank you all for the generous offers. I hope I will not need to take you up on them. I took the boat over to Rogers today and I am taking off a bit early tommorrow to do the work. I will post up with the results as soon as we have them.

Bob, I am starting to think I might be related to Gino or something:D

Tom, Thanks for the offer of your boat but if I were you I would not let me get within 100' of it with the Karma I have been carrying

Tom, Thank you as well. Did you figure out where you are putting in yet and if you need dock space on Friday?

Nate, I think that you and I should maybe get a boat together. two guys withe bad luck should combine to make one boat with good luck :D. BTW I somehow have just received a message on my phone that sounds like was left a few days ago. I will try to return it in the AM

See you all soon
John

Hey John,
I feel for you, and completely understand what you have been through for the last few months. Mine is still not ready. Fix one thing, and another problem pops up.
It will be ready for the Turkey Run, but not for this one.
See you all soon,
Terry

Man ya gotta love this group... John's boat goes iffy and he gets THREE ride offers AND A BOAT OFFER.:ernaehrung004:

I'm thinking we should have a 'Get Jay A Boat' Charity Run. :cool-smiley-026:

NaplesBaja 10-16-2007 11:31 PM

Sounds like a great idea Jay.................we were looking for another another fund or charity to support.......better yet, how about a helicopter!!!!!!!http://www.mazeguy.net/transport/helicopter.gif

John:

I am bringing the boat to Naples by Truck on Saturday morning and plan on being on the water by 9:15. I hope that's early enough.

I left you a message earlier today. I will be putting in and taking out in Naples so I don't "need" fuel. Since I started this fuel fiasco, if you need me to take some fuel "for the team" I will be happy to.

Tom

Specialized 10-18-2007 07:08 AM

Hey Tom,

Got your message last night. When you called I was face down in the bilge arduously taking off the nuts to the engine mounts. I will call you later this morning. I already called Nate and informed him about the fuel. As far as being in the water at 9:15 that should work but it will be tight. There are 4 other
boats leaving from the same place so look for them.

To all that have offered, I should know by the end of today whether I will need to take anyone up ont it. Thanks again
John

Since John is probably busy checking his boat out I will answer for him. I would think we will make the lunch stop by 12 - 12:15 ish. That will allow for some catch up time for the back of the pack and also if someone's boat goes down we will stop for a few minutes while the problem is diagnosed.
Look forward to seeing you and Joe at the Sanibel Bridge. Water looks good for the cats. :D
Bob

MegaByte*3 10-19-2007 01:44 PM

Definitely Cat water tomorrow. I expect to be mopping up the rear of the pack.

John, you gotta be more positive.
Let's use the weather channel forecast. :cool-smiley-011:

It will all change by morning anyway...

NaplesBaja 10-19-2007 10:49 PM

Jay,
I'm using a vacation day to play........I really want want it to happen!!!!!!!!!

Specialized 10-19-2007 11:39 PM

Good morning everyone,

Its about 12:30 AM and we just got back from testing and everything looks good. What a beautiful night to be out running.

John, Definately need to be positive. Besides it never rains in Florida that is liquid sunshine. See you all in a little bit.

A few last minute things. For those unfamiliar with the area, as we come into Capri pass please try to keep good spacing between the boats and lets not get too crazy in the intercoastal. There is one manatee zone for about 1 mile approx halfway down the inter coastal so watch for the boat ahead coming off plane. Once we start to near Naples bay there will be one very short no wake zone(100yds) where there is somewhat of an intersection. Once we get to the docks it has been decided that all boats will dock at the docks on fifth which is right next door to Joe's. We will be occupying all of the end docks. there is more than enough room for us all. Upon entering Joes they will have us set up in the party room just let the hostess know you are with FMO and they will direct you accordingly. The intercoastal is a great twisty scenic run but please be careful as there are many boats headed to Keywaddin using the same water. Lets have a great day and I look forward to seeing everyone soon

Morning All-

So www.weather.com shows rain from the cape to naples. the funny thing is that it is not raining here in the cape. Can anyone in Naples tell us if it is raining there now?

Don

MegaByte*3 10-20-2007 05:39 AM

light rain outside right now at 6:40 am. Looks like heavy cloud cover.

Maritime_Eng 10-20-2007 05:45 AM

It kind of looks like an all day rain........:(

MegaByte*3 10-20-2007 05:54 AM

Weather channel radar shows more rain building from the southwest and coming this way for most of the day. The forecast shows a few rays of sunshine for noon-time and then reverting to thunderstorms for the rest of the afternoon.

bowtye8 10-20-2007 06:25 AM

lite mist in SW cape this AM. Heavy clouds.

Possible sunday run or ?????

NaplesBaja 10-20-2007 06:25 AM

Looks like the rain is feeding up between Naples and Ft. Myers......raining at my house now.

Maritime_Eng 10-20-2007 06:31 AM

Yeah I don't think we will be going. Getting caught in the rain in a cat with no windsheld sucks!

See you all for the thanksgiving run.

Don

MegaByte*3 10-20-2007 06:33 AM

Since my boat has to be transported to Naples for the run today, I have made the decision to put it back in the barn. My latest look at the weather radar has not improved my outlook for the day. Best wishes to those who choose to go. I will see you at Joes Crab shack for lunch anyway.

Tom

bowtye8 10-20-2007 06:36 AM

Seems like I'll pass today but still a possibility for tommorow.

DEnnis

Specialized 10-20-2007 06:44 AM

Good Morning all,

It looks like we will be battling the threat of rain and thunderstorms all day today. The only logical choice in this situation is to call a rain day and go to plan B. For those that can, The run will be rescheduled for tommorow, weather permitting, same times. I will call Joes and postpone till tommorow. I would suggest that we still get together by car for lunch and drinks. Mike Smith has been kind enough to invite us all to Wahoo's for a get together today at 12:00 Please post up or call me as to your intentions for today and for tommorrow. Hopefully we will see many of you today as well as tommorow.

John

MegaByte*3 10-20-2007 06:47 AM

Lunch at Wahoo's sounds great. See ya' there.

NaplesBaja 10-20-2007 06:50 AM

Wahoos sounds good, will try for tomorrow......

Bobthebuilder 10-20-2007 06:59 AM

Wise decision, John. This is not a day to be out there. While it is not raining yet on Marco, it looks pretty ugly out on the Gulf. I have called Loose Cannon, Jayboat and a few others.

I am good to try again tomorrow. Will see you at Wahoos.:D
Bob

ktrelfa 10-20-2007 08:35 AM

Hi everyone The weather looks bad down there Better luck tomorrow
It will be near 80 here tomorrow but the water is already cold here. We will be packing to leave south with the boat on tuesday hope to see you guys soon.

Bobthebuilder 10-20-2007 09:04 AM

Too funny. Just got a call from Nate. He says the Naples gang is chomping to get out on their boats anyway. 6 boats are leaving from Naples Boat Club at 11 am and coming down to Guy Harvey's at Marco for lunch. I understand Mike S. is coming as well so it looks like lunch will be at Guy Harveys. The skys here are lightening up and no rain, so guess I'll go get Predator out and meet them at Gordon Pass for the run back down to Marco. These are my kinda people ! LOL:D
Bob

Specialized 10-20-2007 09:18 AM

I put my phone down for 10min and the plans change again. We'll see you there.

John

Bobthebuilder 10-20-2007 09:29 AM

Further update, and then gotta get on the water. Nate called and now has 9 boats coming.:D

Also Loose Cannon did not get my message earlier this morning and will soon be at the Punta Rassa ramp. Joe is going to head south and we will go north untill we meet then we will head back down to Marco. Said they drove thru a helluva storm but skys are lightening there as well. Guy Harvey's for lunch. What a crew ! :D
Bob
