I run a solid roller 598 in my cat and have no regrets. I run a single Nickerson stage 5 1250 Dominator, which flows close to 1500 CFM. One suggestion would be to run headers, preferrably some with longer primary runners. Manifolds or CMI E-Top headers will probably cost you 50+ HP on a large inch NA motor compared to longer runners.
