Which manufacturer's receiver is ipod compatable?

I have an Alpine CD unit that will run my iPod.... It's model..CDA 9728... They have 4 units that are iPod compatible I believe. Mine is the second one up the line.. will play WMA and MP3 formated disc's as well.

You need to buy an "adaptor" or whatever they call it... it's an additional $75.. it simply plugs into the back of the deck, you hide the small box, and leave the iPod connection end accessable.

Works pretty well. I don't even bring CD's along with me anymore.

Most of the Sony line is compatible, but you have to buy an adapter module similar that runs the XM and such. With this setup, and the UniLink controller, you can actually control your Ipod through your Sony headunit and remotes.

I just bought the Sony 7705 and plan to add Ipod someday; for now CD and XM is good.

Also, Radio Shack now sells a 12VDC plug in FM Transmitter/Ipod Charger combo, to braodcast your Ipod to your existing FM stereo. Probably your simplest and easiest option.

Aiwa also makes some units with Aux inputs on the front of the head unit that you can run a headphone like connector to.

Any Pioneer radio with CD changer controls will work. Pioneer has now come out with an I-pod interface piece which actually allows you to control all of the fucntions of the Ipod right from the front of the radio. You can actually stash the Ipod and let the Pioneer piece do it all. They also have added a lot of marine items to their line up including wired marine remotes and a slew of high quality marine speakers. I ordered 12 Ipod interfaces last month and had them sold before they got to my store. Most radio manufacturers have some type of input adapter for their radios, but they are not capable of actually conotrolling the Ipod itself. Check them out at www.pioneerelectronics.com. Watch out with the Sony head units, not to offend anyone who owns one but they suck. I have bought 3 diffrent units over the last couple of years and they all had the sme tracking problem. And these were the high end ones, I know several other people that have had the same issues, CD won't play sometimes ata ll, sometimes it will start and then stop and screen says error, eject and start over and it work fine, I have sent The last one to Sony about 10 times and it comes back doing the same krap everytime. Stick with the Alpine, Great Head unit and iPod compatibale.

just got the new pioneer it has the ipod feature, had to get it because my sony puked!

Which model pioneeer is it?

I love my Alpine. And it was only about $350-$375 or so for everything out the door. I didn't have to buy any coax or wire though... I had an Alpine unit before so it was a really simple plug and play for me. I would say this is the best CD/Reciever I've had in any of my trucks... has NEVER skipped and it came with a remote! How did I ever get along without a remote??? LOL!!!
