Hydro's definition of an offshore....must have as many of the following as possible:
-Can handle BOTH speed and rough seas
-Deep V....24 degree,,,,knifes those waves
-Steps....designed for speed and predictable handling
-Cockpit.......it's what you look at 2/3's of the time...has to be topdrawer.
-Cabin....comfortable and functional without things installed that break after a good run...
-Engine compartment......clean and mean
-Rear end...nice exhaust tips...I like an aluminum platform or none at all....this is your call...Cigarette has it right in my books in this department.
-Right paint job ties it together
-Built soild and as lightweight as possible...(Kevlar rules)
-Speed? Has to have a good top end and the ability to go "fast" in rough water...top end ought be in the 80+ mph range these dayes I feel on a new boat.
-Length......true offshore.....a true solid 38'er
-Priced right...I am leaving it at that.
-Drives..."well matched to power" I don't feel you have to have a #6 unless you NEED to have a #6.

i always considered WickedWon to be one of the defining offshore powerboat. built with speed handeling and safety in mind. has a half cabin to get out of the sun and is arguably one of the best rigged boats out there. if you have ever seen this thing go by at 100+ you know what i mean. great boat for sure

To me, an offshore boat must be able to run reasonably comfortable in 2 to 3 foot seas at at least 60 mph. It goes up from there.
