Thanks for the compliment...just to show you that we really are wise old men, Brownie and I were together in Miami last week and I was telling him about a certain boat that is going to be made.
I made the comment that it wouldn't be the fastest boat, but it would be something that he and I could just jump in and go to Bimini for lunch like the old days.
He responded that yes, we could do that but we would both have to check in at the hospital when we got back, unlike the old days.

Bryan....your on for Miami next year.
Wasabe...notice on that picture that you posted, on the side of the hull right under the rubrail are two black dots. Those are the exhausts exiting the hull.
That was the big trick back then, get the exhaust out of the boat in the shortest distance. You could begin to hear again within four or five days after the race was over.
Another famous 36 foot Cigarette racer was a guy who started his career with one of these boats and went out and won his first race.....Miami to Nassau.
He stayed with the sport and accomplished many more wins.
His name.........Tom Gentry.

One thing about the side exhausts, the tailpipe on one side of the engine was 4' longer than the other. This meant, at wide open throttle, one side of the engine ran 300 rpms faster than the other side. When you shut off the engine after the race, the side with long pipe would run for an hour or so, until it unwound the crankshaft.

I have been getting phone calls and e-mails about the rumors.
The grapevine in this industry is incredible and that's not even counting these web sites.
I even have one of my old customers trying to send me a deposit check for a new banana boat.....what do you think should I just come clean with this project even though it is not 100% ready?
