Just got off the phone with the painter and they're going in the paint booth at 5 o'clock.

How does this sound? The mouth or opening and back a few inches yellow and that fades quickly to the rest being red?

That sounds cool, Fades always look good

Or make the sides of the scoops look like the sides of your boat

I'll more than likely go with a yellow to red fade. I thought about the boat scheme and thought that might be a bit too busy.

Here's a preliminary base-coat and a rough idea of what I'm going with. Should be wrapped up by morning. What do you think? I'll post final pics tomorrow.

I'd bring the red further forward... less yellow... more fade... know what I mean???

There's actually a little fade on the yellow one. I almost went with all yellow fading to white until he started playing with the red and yellow one. It's tougher to fade two contrasting colors.

CP Performance aero scoops, the only ones they carry. $178 a piece...

We tried that and it didn't seem to look that great, plus with red and yellow being two such contrasting colors, you need quite a bit of room to get them to fade without there being a sharp line. I know what you're saying though, that was my original intent, less yellow and more red.
