Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
When I bought my TopGun down in florida and was going to haul it to New York and travel with it regulary I knew i should put the Myco under it. I order it to be built befoer I went down and got it and it looks and pulls great. Mine lives on the trailer for the most part so set up is important. If it was just to move it from one place to the next once or twice a year then maybe not worth the money, but if it will be sitting on it alot and be hauled alot, buy piece of mind and by the Myco.

how quick were you to take the "lesser" trailers you've owned to the landfill 'cause they didn't fit and didn't work? What's under that Formula you have for sale? Downtown...we'll take up a collection of "other people's money" to get you a Myco...we'll see how it goes. :p |

Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
MYCO. Custom built to YOUR boat! You get what you pay for...peace of mind, security and excellent customer service.
It's amazing how many boaters will spend alot of money on their boats and buy a sh*t trailer. You must have a well built, straight towing trailer with the bunks made right for your boat. There are alot of good trailer manufactureers out there, Myco just stands at the top. When I was looking around for an aluminum trailer for my 33' Powerplay, I checked alot of companies and decided on an aluminum MYCO. My boat has a full stagger, (unusual for a 33' boat) which Bill @ MYCO asked if it was a staggered config. Nobody else asked this question, Bill at Myco built the trailer exactly for a 33' Powerplay upon the center of gravity for MY boat for it's best balance. He also did it in a tandem axle instead of a tripple axle....it's alot easier to move around. The trailer tows like a dream. Looks awesome too! |
Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
Dave,
I know that you keep your boats for a long time and take care of your equipment. I would try to get the $5k down, then I would pull the trigger. The boat will fit perfect. |

Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
Downtown 42 ,
Checkout Loadmaster Ltd. in Port Clinton, Ohio. No relation to Loadmaster in Florida. They build steel trailers using open channel. The bunks supports can be welded or adjustable. They did a trailer for my 32' sportfish Fountain. It's a 1996 and that year fountain had two hull step configurations for this model. They got with Fountain and did the step correctly. Their finished product looks as goos as everything discussed here. They'll do any custom work you want. Also there close to Illinois. ed |
Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
I have to choose between the 2 in a few days. No time to build one.

I have heard a lot of good things about Bill but he would not give me the time of day when I needed help with my CURRENT myco.....BZ |
Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
I just bought my second Myco. My Motion came with a the typical trailer most boats (except the high end boats) come with. I won't name the brand. I hated it after having a Myco once before. Sold the trailer and spent the money on the best a Myco. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! No bouncing, tracks straight, fit like a glove and great brakes. If you only haul very short distance get the cheapo. More than 50 miles go in style.

Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
Nothing but MYCO here. I've had nothing but great service from Tim, Don, and Bill. I liked the trailer so much I bought a cradle to put under my 41 APACHE. You need to watch closely that mfgr's are using the same parts, some make their own axles by welding the spindles on and just using the dexster hubs, been there, done that. Rippem, you better be using a plan to smooth out those bunks on your trailer, 'cause on your FORMULA, the stringers are glued in, not glassed in, and you will poke a hole in the bottom of your pride and joy. Just give Scott Porter a call and ask him what will happen if your trailer isn't set-up properly.
THERE AIN'T NO BETTER THAN A MYCO Robert |

I'm WELL aware of my boats construction, but thank you. ;)
My present Eagle fits it like a glove. Like the two Eagles have I've owned previously. |

I have a Vanguard, nice but I had to send it back for refit...for $5k I wouldn't feel bad if i had to shim some bunks on my own though.
BTW...The myco flexs more because its open channel but lighter in weight, the Vanguard is box and is heavier. If you want to see them next to each other, theres a Myco with a 42 Fountain on it next to mine in the storage building. Click on the pic. |
Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
Even though she likes the Vanguard...I would tell the wife to go with the Myco on the next boat. :D

Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
Did anyone expect anything other than what has been said after reading the original question?:)
I prefer my Eagle trailer myself. Price was right and it is also custom fitted to my hull. I don't understand the reasoning behind Myco not covering the back side of their fenders. I looked at a Fountain that was on a Myco, and it had many rock chips right at the fender area. But must not have came from the trailer, because they are perfect. Or so I've heard. ;) |

Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
Like I said, I have had 2 Myco's. 1 steel one on Radio Active, and 1 aluminum under my 4300 Nortech as well as a cradle. Had some issues with my crank and tower, Bill stepped up and gave me a much larger set up, same kind used on 50, Nortechs, OL and Hustlers. This resolved the problem. I always try to look at how to be better, in my own business, and sometimes **** happens beyond our control, we all are not perfect, all you can do is admit your mistakes, and try to resolve them. I thought it was great with Bill coming on the board. The guy in my book is a real straight shooter, as well as interesting to talk to, thats at least worth 5k more. :p :D Jeff

Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer
I have a 28' Nordic on a dual axel Myco. My tow vehicle, a 2003 Z71 Tahoe/5.3, is marginal for a boat this size. But, the Myco tows great, and the brakes seem to work very well. My truck has 86,000 miles on it and I'm still on my original brake pads! On my last boat and truck, I went through disc brake pads every 20,000 miles.
Most 28 Nordics come with the factory triaxel, which is a good looking west coast bling deal, but it sits so low, speed bumps and steep driveway ramps can be a problem. My best friend pulls his 29' Fountail on what appears to be an identical Myco (except for bunk arrangement) and he's never had any problems either. MYCO! Steve |
Re: 5k more for Myco Trailer

I thought I would follow up on my Myco. deal. sent all of the stuff that Bill T. asked for over a week ago and still nothing not even a phone call. It looks like it's business as usual at Myco.
