Help, Hole In Trs Drive!!!
#1
I am redoing my TRS down in my shop right now. I ground off the old bondo, or whatever the guy I bought it from a while back used to put on the nose cone. As I was grinding I came across a hole on the bottom that was bondo'd? over. It looks like a hole that is supposed to be there, but it is filled with a rubber material. What is this hole? Do I need it open? Is it supposed to be there or can I fill and paint over it? Also, what is the best thing to use to put the nose cone on....bondo, epoxy, devcon? Any help would be great.

where exactly is the hole at. could it be the oil drain hole? not sure why it would have been covered though. post a pic if you can

I think the drain on my TRS is on the lower left, not the bottom. if I recall correctly....i havent seen my boat since October......that should change this Sunday though....

The picture is a little confusing. The drain is on the lower left as you look at the prop shaft say from behind the boat.

Yes, it is on the bottom left, sorry for the confusing pic. It was covered before and I had no problems with the drive, so I guess I'll just go back over it again. Anyone know a good drive paint to use? Is the Standard Mercruiser black good? Thanks for the help guys.

black imron is still your best bet with an epozy sealer. if thats the oil drain plug how do you change the oil?
