OK who wants to do it. Ive never been in one,but would love the experience just don't want to spend a months salary in one day (Entry Fee-Gas -Hotel) Low cost Big fun.

i think the midwest poker runs are a much better value, but there is nothing like running in the keys either.... :cool: :D

i am guessing you are taking pics for the LOTO runs in june?

I have never broke (for the most part) keys are great. I will be in the air come rain or shine, you going to be there? :D :drink:

Lets not get off the subject.
Maybe its not a good idea,But it would have been a fun day in Sarasota.
Anyway Ill be hitten the sand bar across from Bradenton beach just north of Mar-Vista for Moters Day.

Maybe a fun run to lunch at Marvista. We did that on the 1st
of Jan. Our REAL Poker Runs are inexpensive ($150)

Crown, check with Thunder Marine in St Pete. Last year we went on a poker run they had and the cost was...........FREE! It was well organized and still paid out $500 cash to the winner, plus other prizes. It was the most fun one we've been on. There were about fifteen boats or so, very laid back. I think they put on a couple a year.

They had it set up with five stops on the inside, and a boat a couple miles out in the gulf you could go to for a bonus card. This guy here had no idea what it was, but he got a flyer in the mail, and thought it sounded like fun. He and his wife showed up and wondered what the hell they had gotten into. He skipped the first stop, but was the first boat at all other stops, even the one in the gulf. He won the most enthusiastic award! That's what boating should be all about, getting together having fun, and not a big d!ck contest. :cool:

Last weeks OPBA run was actually $125-00, Paid $109-00 for the room at the Hyatt. They ain't gonna get any cheaper than the OPBA runs. Opba does a fun run normally once a month.
We saw ya headed south on ICW Saturday, nice ride & enjoy.
Thunder Marine run should be coming up soon.
We head to Mar Vista real often.

You're right. I think we went on three in the spring last year, and that was it. Too bad Russ isn't doing the SOS again. :(

Cuda, you're right. Entry fee was just $ 75.00, best hand was a grand, 2nd was $500.00, 3rd, $250.00, Best Poker Run Boat $ 500.00 and farthest traveled to participate $ 250.00, worst poker hand $ 250.00

One of the best times I don't really remember.

News Flash:

Within 2 weeks I will officially be opening up the West Coast Chapter of the Citizens for Florida's Waterways. The PO Box is 568, Nokomis, FL, 34274-0568

I will be doing a Poker Run for CFFW based on the same format as last year's SOS. I wasn't going to announce it for another couple of weeks, but hell might as well let the cat out of the bag. Just when is still up in the air but it will be this year. Low cost, lots of fun, and decent prizes.

How about some suggestions to what time of year? I'm thinking late Sept. maybe early Oct. but would like your feedback. Russ

Even though late Sept./Oct. is still in "THE" season, traditionally early October is great weather. I went online and checked for the last ten years the weather and that time seemed to be good.

I want to plan it so that it doesn't conflict with some other major event, and to run it this spring I just don't have the time to pull it together. There are a couple of hoops I have to jump through with the "parent" club so I can ride on their insurance carrier. CFFW has done poker runs on the East Coast before so it's more formality than anything else.

Going to be interesting weather this summer, it has NOT started out particularly good since we're breaking records for rain, and the winds have still not died down. Usually this is one of our best times, not so far.

Anyway, with both weather, and possible conflicts in mind, send suggestions on time. Thanks. R

If it's over Memorial Day, I'm in. I'm passing on the St. John's OSO get together to do the Jacksonville Poker Run and they are too close together to do both.

If we do this we should have a meeting place and all of us run together.
