Has anyone tried the 5 blade hydromotives on a twin step Top Gun? What do you think, I was going to try some?

(Stock Bravo's + 640 hp) times 6 blade props = blown drives. You'll be starting a new thread soon asking why your drives are making funny noises. Lot of power, heavy boat and alot of bite for that set up.

What was your old power, speed and prop combo? It's out of my league, but I could take a stab at it.

The 4BL props will be a good propeller for all around performance and would be my suggestion for top end (per your goal). 3BL props will have some characteristics you may not be happy with. The pitch and drive depth will need to be determined. Your engine builder should supply you with appropriate rpm range to run the engines.

If you can supply a accurate "wet" weight of the boat I can give the appropriate starting pitch to work with.

i called today and no one was there to pick up the phone. i called merc racing and they said to jsut run it with the current props and see wut rpms it hitting. the weight wet is around 14,000 pounds wiht full fuel. i bought the boat with drives and installed these engines myself. i think ill probably go with the three blade mirage/mirage plus labbed. the engines are going to run about 5200 rpms-5400 rpms wot.

Hp/wt ratio shows the boat in the 90mph range. To achieve that speed with 1.5g.r. @ 5300rpm will take a 30-32 pitch propeller. I still like the Bravo 1 propeller on your boat. If your 3 blade props are in the low 20" range it may be tough to get a baseline from them.

Don't just buy a set of props. You are going to need to try some. Then try a couple more. Once you found the perfect prop you can then lab it. I'm sure bb has some sort of a test and return policy.
