6 blade hydromotive
 

im finally gettin the boat near completion and are in need of props. i am lookin at the hydromotive 6 blade, but have heard that u need a stepped hull with high x dimensions for this prop. my boat is a 1990 revolution with stock bravos w/ nose cones, triple 640 hp/670 torque. i am looking for a high top speed. the drives are 1.5/1 ratio. also what would labbing the props do for it. lastly who can sell me some of these at a good price. thanks

I'm afraid we don't carry those propellers.

If at all possible, try them first. You're right with your application statements. These props can be the best props or not work at all on your application. Straight V hulls can have problems with the stern lift at WOT unless they are set up in race configuration with the C.G. just right.

Especially if your looking for top speed, there may be better choices.

Thanks for being patient.

My thoughts are, you need a propeller that carries your bow more. I'm not suggesting the 6BL won't work. It just has some characteristics not conducive to deep V hulls. The stern lift at WOT could be unnerving.

A 4BL prop may give the boat a better attitude at WOT. When your boat was built, low X dimensions with 3BL props were the state of the art. Did you go with a high X?

I'm suggesting you try some Bravo 1 4BL or comparable propeller before investing in a propeller that may not give you the total performance you want.

The rule of thumb is that if you can get on plane with a Mirage+ and it doesn't chine walk, that'll be your fastest prop. Your x-dim will need to be deep to plane off with a Mirage+. If the boat is a handfull or blows out when planing, then try the Bravo1. I have found the Hydromotives do help smooth out chinewalking conditions, but the prop really can't lift a bow. It's also a bear to get on plane. Now the 6 blades will definetly help carry that bow, and it should plane better, but all those blades will slow the boat down. The midrange should be awsome though. A great family cruiser prop. With your power, boat size and drive choice, I'd be concerned about a prop that hooks up too well. You could be looking at some broken drive parts.

the x dimension is jsut as it was from the factory. im looking at the highest top speed possible, and heard that more blades give u a faster top speed. if a 3 blade is the way to go then i need to find out wut pitch. the props on it now came with the boat but are four blades and wont work wiht the new engines. also, at what rpm's should the engines be running at wot?
