Apache: What's in a name??

Re: Apache: What's in a name??
"Starting in 1989 Phil negotiated a corporate sponsorship of two race boats, the 24' Skater and a newly constructed 41' Apache. Both were known as the Doller Marine Special and in both, Phil continued to rack up the checkered flags and trophies One of his most prestigious wins came in 1989 in the Apache. Phil won "The Great Race" fromTrinidad to Tobago. In 12-foot seas and to this day, Phil is the only American to achieve this feat. Then duing the 6-race circuit in 1990, Phil earned three 1st place finishes while racing the Skater in APBA's Division C-Class".
I personally like Apache's...I especially like Phil Lipship's boat. If Phil says he ran a boat in 12' seas and it was an Apache' designed by Don Aronow...it has my frick'in respect.
Oh...sorry....now onward to more Apache' bashing!

We all know the heritage of the name, I haven't been around this place all that long and I'm done with this topic. It's old and I think it's over.

Wow, that was an old long thread. If I remember right it was started by the Jerry, Leopjam / BRD... I tried searching in the past for it and couldn’t find it in the archive section. Pretty sure Cashbar told me it was locked and..... can’t remember the rest. Pretty sure he stated it’s not retreviable.. there was some good history in there between the nonsense.
