Default Muffler Advice Needed

I've been reading the various threads regarding mufflers and would like some advice concerning my specific set up. I have a 540 with CMI dry Big Tube headers. I don't know the current decibel reading, but I need to do something.

Please give me your thoughts, especially concerning dry exhaust.

Thanks-

Depending on where you are in decibel numbers now there is really only 2 companies making legal mufflers for blower motors over 750hp. cmi and hpi for your dry application., We have been working with several muffler companies at loto. using nortech 850's the cmi new noise elimination system will comply with 90decibels, hpi has a slide in that they are fine tuning that I believe will work. Nortech 1150's dry we are doing r@d on now and will have answers within a week. will let you know. jim midwest performance marine loto--- 636 236-4141

GGB's will work but you'll have to dump some water through the muffler or to help and also to prevent ther flapper from burning.

I am running KE exhaust with GGB's on a N/A 540.
I am told it takes the bark out of the exhaust note. This being observed from the dock when I do a fly-by.
When I first ran them on the hose, this spring, I didn't really notice anything different until the water started coming out of the mufflers.
Unbelievable difference.
Mind you, I was in the cockpit when I was listening to the exhaust. It was very noticeable soon as the water made contact with the GGB's.
I would like to get a "db" reading to see where I am in regards to the new law that seems to be sweeping the country.

Are the GGB's an insert RLW? I am running the KEs dry and need to address db as well. On a side note RLW, did you get what you were looking for in the KEs?
