I'll get one of mine out today on the boat...and just in the spirit of it, whats up with that right big toe nail? get a little aggressive with the chainsaw, I mean clippers

The lift and all look great, excellent job. Having everything so close and accessable will be sweet...Rob

mcr ... Nice first post!

Vinyl is the choice around Joisey. I've never seen steel installed anywhere round here. It's either pressure treated wood, the greenish stuff, or vinyl nowadays. The old days was the creosote (sp?), tar treated stuff, which they do not use anymore. Maybe steel is more popular out there in MI, but never reasearched the pros/cons cuz they don't install it here. My guess would be freezing might have something to do with one choice over the other .... I'd check with a professional.

If I were you I would be pulling those small bunks off the lift and putting on a set of 3" X 12" X 20' rough cut so they are a true 3 x 12.

Thanks Mr. V ... I'll do that. I needed to go slightly higher for clearance, so that will solve the problem. Then I just need to get an electrician that's wants to take my money to get juice ot this thing what a joke run around, after run around ...
