Whats this I here you are working Saturday?
Havent dug into the cracking issue yet. Your talking about the mid-section not the lower though arent you. Ive seen and heard the midsection do crack and its not a huge deal if welded, not sure if this problem carried over to the 300x's though.

Bernie yours is the lower. Mid section crack was on Daves 36 Skater the mid motor mid section was leaking oil out of the crack in the mid on his 300x

This is the first Ive heard of the lowers cracking.
Mid sections could probably be welded in most cases, the lowers however I wouldnt think you could. The tolerances have to be very tight.
Are you guys talking about welding the lowers?
