Three reasons, at least I think:

Dropping the silent thunder box and losing the stock Merc exhaust units dropped over 500 lbs of dead weight RIGHT over the props. Back of the boat now sits at least two if not three inches higher in the water. And our boats are extremelly azz heavy with the drives set deep. I have noticed since the changeover, it does not jump up on plane as before and if I'm not careful I can cavitate the props. Never did that before. Reason: props higher in water than before.

I HAD to pick up some HP gains, even minimal, by going to the EMI Thunder exhaust.

Hydro Quad IV props lift that heavy azz stern out of the water.

Combination of all above decreased drag dramatically. That's where I think I got the speed increase. When I bought the boat bone stock with the 3 blade Mirage props, 66/67 was the best I ever could achieve.

99 Phantom with 500 hp's it ran 86 radar. Just added a few goodies now 625 per side. Should run upper 90's. This 34 Phantom May not be as fast as Will's 30 but I am trying.
Will ;
I plan to spin this motor (502 CID) 5800, with the 28p 4 blade Hydramotive props, 1:50 ratio drives will that be the right combo ? What do you think I will get for top end in Fresh water? Maybe now I can get that Phantom Shirt. Only joking.
