I am shopping for a boat and came across several production boat manufacturers and a few custom boat builders. In comparing parts, uniqueness and quality, I found a custom boat to offer lots of customization. See below

Extreme Custom Boats (ECB)is a new name in custom boat building, however we've been serving some of the big name boat builders for over 15 years. Al the big name parts are used in these boats and these boat look great! I think I've decided to go with a custom boat. I don't plan on taking mine offshore, but as far as custom boats go....thoughts from the offshore crowd?

They are all wood and fiberglass.........If you go with Merc power than your choice comes down to your personal preference. Check out your builders warranty, look at his rigging and if your happy with the layout of the boat than it doesn't really matter what brand it is. It seems to me that most of the west coast builders use all the same parts, same cleats, same bezels, same grab rails , same cup holders etc., (same parts just different custom boats) Seems like a "custom boat" is one that doesn't have a standard "Sea Ray" gel coat scheme. Gaffrig controls are nice. Never heard of those guages though. Like I said, I've been in quite a few boats and they are pretty much all the same materials in all of them until you get in to higher end boats........Kevlar, Ostrich leather, carbon fiber (you get the picture).
