Default Baja 24s? How do these #s compare?

I have a 1989 Baja 240 with a 454 mag. The only mod I have is Stainless Marine exhaust. I am just wondering how it stands up to other comparable 24' Bajas. I am seeing 62.2 on GPS with a 23" mirage @ 4800 rpms. What are other people seeing with their 24s?

Thats about as good as it gets for that hull and power.

I had a 93 24 Outlaw with a 454mag and would see 60-62mph with the stock engine. Added cam, exhaust and carb and gained 3-4mph.

My buddy's has a 94 24 outlaw with Stainless marine exhaust and the best he has seen on radar is 64, with a light load by himself. He consistently runs 62 gps.

I have had a couple problems with my bolsters too. While sitting I came across a very large wake and ended up sitting on the floor. It made things interesting for a few seconds. I ended up having to totally rebuild the seat. Would you believe there is almost a complete sheet of 1/2 plywood in those things.......

The speed is correct. I had a 97 Outlaw with a 454 before putting a 525SC in it. ran right over 62 w/ the 454 ran high 70's with the 525sc.

The bolsters are a problem in Baja's. They through bolt the isle part of the bolsters but the outter sides are screwed in due to not being able to reach them through the access under the floor board. I used those things you push through the hole and they butterfly making it able to run a bolt through. You get them at West Marine. Worked like a charm!

It seems my boat is doing all it can with the power given to it right now. Any ideas what it would run with 500 hp or so?

It is really gonna suck when I get smoked at LOTO by my old boat. I would need another 100hp just to keep up with you now or I need to make sure we're at least in some 4 footers.
